Yes best gaming laptops under 500 dollars are possible we made a list of a few such laptops

Which was hard as not many options are available for gaming laptops under 500 dollars, but as hardware gets better and cheaper every year, and also the competition is getting higher we consumers on a tight budget can benefit a lot if we are looking at the right product, i.e., gaming laptops under 500 dollars.

Disclaimer:

Now there is a disclaimer here that not all the laptops featured below to have a dedicated graphics card, but they can still do casual gaming, they are intended for those who usually work like browsing the web watch movies or office work, video editing, etc. but sometimes do some casual gaming. The prices are subject to change for the good or worse, but we will keep you updated as prices change. Also, the costs of laptops are not exactly $500, there could be slight ups and downs, but I will try to keep the costs as low as possible and close to our $500 budget.

Something about Graphics:

A laptop with dedicated Graphics is the best way to go if you’re doing a lot of gaming, but it adds a lot to the price tag I will try my best to find gaming laptops under 500 dollars with dedicated graphics but don’t worry even the laptops without dedicated graphics should be good enough if you do more productivity work and less gaming, All the gaming laptops under 500 dollars are also suitable for video editing they will struggle at 4K, but they can handle FHD video easily.

FPS info:

FPS (Frames Per Second) is basically a unit used in the gaming world as a way of knowing how your PC/Laptop is performing or how capable it is. We, humans, see the world at 24fps and that’s what most movies are shot at anything lower in a video or game and we will start to stutter. 30fps is the starting point in gaming and is considered a proper experience 60fps is considered the gold standard it does make the gameplay smoother but not by a lot. 30fps is still enough for a perfect gameplay experience.

Our Target:

We are targeting 720p resolution or lower 30fps depending on games here because it is the only logical way it’s going to work. (This is for the gaming laptops under 500 dollars without dedicated graphics). The laptops without dedicated graphics are not all capable of running Triple ‘A’ titles they are intended for casual and slightly older or not so demanding games. For example, DOTA 2 & CSGO will work fine but games like ‘The Witcher 3 & GTA V’ might struggle for smooth gameplay so you will have to lower resolution turn down the graphical settings to as low as possible.

The Laptops with dedicated graphics can handle nearly all the modern games.
Most games can run at 1080p at 30-60fps but if you find a game lagging lowering the resolution to 720p can improve gameplay by a lot without losing too much graphics quality. The AMD machines are equal if not better than the Nvidia dedicated graphics mentioned in this list.

Now let me enlist the best gaming laptops under 500 dollars, I hope I’m not getting you bored.
First on the list in no particular order is

1st

Acer Aspire E 15

The first in the list of best gaming laptops under $500 is from Acer. Now this was a very good find you’re getting a lot of specs for a fantastic price this laptop has plenty of power from its 8th gen core i5 with is suitable for gaming video editing and basically all the daily tasks, its paired with a Nvidia MX150 which is basically a mobile version of the desktop GT 1030, which means you will have excellent gaming performance.

This card is capable of running most high-end modern games with a little graphics tunning at respectable frame rates. It comes with 8GB of DDR4 ram and a physical hard drive. But i insist you take the SSD option if you can as its going to improve the performance by a lot.

Specifications
8th Generation Intel Core i5-8250U Processor 1.6GHz(4 Cores, 6M Cache, up to 3.40GHz) Intel UHD 620 Graphics
8GB or 12GB of DDR4 Dual Channel memory (RAM)
256GB SSD or512GB SSD
15.6″ Full HD (1920 x 1080) widescreen LED-backlit display
Windows 10 Home
42 Wh, 3-cell, lithium polymer battery. 45watt charging adapter.

11ac Wi-Fi (Dual-Band 2.4GHz and 5GHz)

Pros

  • This is a very powerful processor good for both productivity and gaming also some video editing.
  • The Nvidia MX 150 is a great graphics card with a good balance of performance and battery life.
  • Most games will run at 1080p with medium settings but for triple ‘A’ titles you will have to lower resolution to 720p and target medium to low settings.
  • 8GB ram is more than enough for both gaming and productivity but you can go for the 12GB option for some extra cash.
  • SSD is much better than a hard drive you won’t get as much storage but you will have a much faster experience.
  • USB C in this price point is cherry on top.

Cons

  • The Build Quality is Average (they have to cut corners somewhere).
  • The screen is not that bright but that’s for outdoors, indoors you will be more than happy.
  • The track pad will get the everyday job done but will be pain full for gaming so a mouse is definitely recommended.
  • The webcam is only 720p but most laptops come with similar cameras.
  • 4-cell Li-Ion (3220 mAh) Battery, Up to 7 Hours Battery Life (Claimed).+5The battery is decent Acer claims 7 hours but if you’re doing heavy tasks you will last 3-5 hours

2nd

ASUS VivoBook F510UA

This is an excellent looking laptop and is also one of my picks for the best gaming laptops under 500 dollars. And by ASUS it’s one of the latest models with powerful specs and a beautiful design.

The main attraction would be its screen a Full HD IPS display with an 80% screen to body ratio which basically means more screen in a small body, it’s plenty powerful too with its 8th Gen Intel core i5 and built-in Intel UHD 620 graphics which are not a lot powerful for demanding games but why I am enlisting it in the list of gaming laptops under 500 dollars is that it can handle lighter titles and most other every day tasks in a breeze, the processor is paired with 8GB of fast DDR4 RAM which is more than enough even by today standards

But if you want to upgrade there is an extra slot in the laptop and you can do it yourself if you have the know-how.

Specifications
8th Generation Intel Core i5-8250U Processor 1.6GHz (4 Cores, 6M Cache, up to 3.40GHz)
8GB DDR4 RAM.
1TB HDD Storage (128GB SSD optional).
Intel UHD 620 Graphics
15.6″ anti-glare Full HD display with ASUS Splendid software enhancement.
2″ wide, 0.8″ thin and portable footprint with 0.3″ NanoEdge bezel for a stunning 80% screen-to-body ratio.
Windows 10 Pro
Chiclet keyboard with a fingerprint sensor.
Good amount of ports including USB 3.1 Type-C (Gen1), USB 3.0, USB 2.0, and HDMI; Lightning-fast 802.11ac dual band Wi-Fi keeps you connected through any congestion or interference.

  Pros

  • The laptop is plenty powerful with a quad core 8th gen Intel core i5 processor and 8 gigs of RAM.
  • It has a very Good FHD display with a Stunning baseless look.
  • It is made of all plastic body but the build quality is great with a slim design body.
  • It comes with a good selection of ports including a type c port.
  • The battery life is quite good, it’s not all day battery but lasts up to 4-5 hours on a single charge.

  Cons

  • The keyboard is not backlit, nothing major but the competition has it.
  • It comes with a mechanical hard drive which is good for storage but an SSD would be a lot faster and as there is space in the laptop for an m.2 SSD you can upgrade it yourself for cheap.
  • The laptop doesn’t have dedicated graphics. So demanding games won’t work.

  • The battery life is average you will only get 4-6 hours max from the claimed 10 hours and if you’re gaming that will shed down to 2-3 hours.
  • A lot of options are available for this laptop with different processors for around the same which is good but if you’re not careful you could get the wrong laptop for more, so buy the one we pick for you.
  • The laptop has no optical drive which is good as most companies replace it with large batteries but this is not the case here.

5th

2018 Lenovo Ideapad 330s 15.6″

  • The screen has low resolution, the competition has 1080p touchscreens in this price point, and the rest of the screen is good.

Most of the laptops mentioned here have a lot of options to buy from they have both Intel and AMD options. The Intel versions with dedicated graphics are fine but without the dedicated graphics AMD version is a better choice for gaming, all the versions are also similarly or closely priced, so be careful when choosing also it’s recommended the configurations we chose for you.
